I had to capture this on canvas in all its glory and natural beauty just sitting there being who it authenticall is! There's something we can all take in from this one! Floral Abstraction #1

A Painting reminding us of the Peace that the Lord freely offers up, This painting was an intuitive session I taught at the beginning of January as I asked each member of my art group to think and even pray about their word of the year. My word came upon me fast and bold "PEACE" without hesitation and thats the word that I used to guide me through this particular painting, it holds a letter to myself I wrote as if it were how God were to speak to me and its full of the most loving kind words that I (we) struggle to speak about ourselves. Why can't we speak such love and compassion to ourselves? Why do we think we are underserving? The truth is-we do derserve love, compassion, understanding and yes peace in our lives, I hope you enjoy this painting as it came directly from the depths of my soul. Peace I Leave With You John 14:27

This piece evolved in such an organic way, I’m not surprised that an elephant shape appeared with a figure, the under layer had marks and writings about how we are stronger than we could ever think we are as humans. I think this is the perfect metaphor for what I as the artist was feeling, it’s a reminder that we can communicate with a higher energy (that I refer to as God) and absorb strength to get through the worst of days leaving us feeling a bit lighter and uplifted.
