Mountain Wildlife, the Curiosity Bear is the first of my Wildlife Collection I'm working on for this year, its full of colorful undertones, texture and details that embody the curiosities of a Grizzly in the wild as she stends to her young, survival and peace within the mountain air. 399 is the oldest documented "mama grizzly bear to reproduce in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. Her last yearling cub was born in 2023 when she was 27 years old. She birthed 8 cubs over her lifetime. Only eight of 399’s cubs have reached adulthood. 399 was tragically killed at 28 after she ran infront of a car and was hit in October of 2024, 399 was the worlds most famous mother grizzly bear and was the muse of many photographers throughout her life.

This Tree was just amazing as it stood there framing the canyons of as if to say "Welcome to Sedona" And the smell was amazing-the fresh smell of Juniper was everywhere, the smooth soft feel of it's bark felt as it it had been buffed to the smoothest finish! I had to capture this on canvas in all its glory and natural beauty just sitting there being who it authenticall is! There's something we can all take in from this one! The Perfect Sunday is an original plein air painting by artist Kelly Wiler, she sat in the coolness of the woods with her friend that day and talked about life, God, dreams and laughter together as they were greeted by the warmth of the sun and a special little baby fawn on that special Sunday! We decided this was the best “church service” we had ever been too on a Sunday afternoon ;) what a blessing it was!
