This high-quality rub-on transfer with non-stick carrier sheet comes in a 12 x 16-inch pad with eight sheets.  IOD transfers are quite versatile and can be stunning on large furniture pieces as well as DIY wall art, textiles, home accessories and decor! Use on smalls, painted furniture, and other DIY projects to give give a different feel.   

PREPARATION IS KEY.

Keep your transfer with its backing sheet until you are ready to apply. Keep free of dust or debris, which will interfere with adhesion. Do not allow the adhesive side of transfer to touch anything prior to application. When handling the transfer, avoid letting the adhesive side touch itself (don’t do in a windy environment). Do not store transfer in extreme temperatures or humid conditions, which can affect adhesion.

APPLICATION

Start with a clean, dry, matte surface. If painted, make sure it’s well cured, and if you have sanded the paint make certain there is no residual dust. All of these things will interfere with adhesion. For best adhesion, seal your project surface with a high quality, water-based polyurethane sealer in matte before applying a transfer.

Carefully remove the transfer from its white backing. Slowly and carefully lower the transfer onto your intended surface, making sure that it does not touch until the placement is correct. Use small pieces of low tack tape to hold it in place.

Using the provided tool, or one of your choice, start at one end of the transfer and rub firmly to adhere the image to the surface. Do this until the entire image is transferred. You are welcome for the free arm workout as well. If any parts aren’t transferred when you lift, simply lay it back down and rub more on that portion. After it is transferred, with a clean dry hand, smooth down any bits that aren’t flatly adhered.

We recommend sealing with a water based (or not harsh solvent based) sealer (waxes created for chalk type paints also work well if they don’t contain harsh solvents).

INSTRUCTION TIPS:

• Carefully select and cut out your transfer pieces, 
  

• TAKE EXTRA CARE TO KEEP THE PROTECTIVE BACKING ON  UNTIL YOU ARE READY TO APPLY.
• Keep free of dust or debris while Hovering over the surface, position the transfer piece where you want to apply it.
•  Put the transfer in place and use tape to secure corner side of transfer to touch anything prior to application. When handling the transfer, avoid letting the adhesive side touch itself (do not apply in a windy environment) Using the provided tool, start in one corner of the design and begin rubbing withfirm, even pressure to adhere the transter to the surtace. Continue across thesurface of design until it is all adhered. If a small amount has not transfered when you peel the sheet up, simply lay the sheet back down and apply more rubbing to that area.should be clean, dry and flat. If applying to a painted surtace, make surethat the paint is fully cured, stable and free of any residual moisture. Remove the sheet and smooth down any loose areas with your clean, dry hand Burnish firmly with a clean soft cloth to ensure maximum adhesion.You can leave as is or gently distress with fine sandpaper.
•  Protect the transfer with a surface appropriate sealer that does not contain strong solvents which can interfere with adhesion. If you are using a chalky style, or mineral based furniture paint, adhesion is stronger when such surfaces are sealed with a water based polyurethane type finish prior to applying transfers. When sealing over a transfer, avoid strong solvent-basedtopcoats which can adversely attect the bond. Not intended for outdooruse or constant and direct sunlight which can cause fading and degrading.
